West Texas Dove Hunts

We have been very fortunate to have hunted this area for the past 15yrs & created great relationships with many Farmers in the Area to ensure that your experience is the best available.

We Hunt Native Sunflowers & Cultivated Grain Fields along with Stock Tanks.

Our High Volume Hunts will be on the larger fields with more than enough action to get your barrel smoking.

Our Stock Tank Hunts are a little more laid back easy going action with the Opportunity to shoot Decoying Birds over a Water Hole.

The perfect hunt for Kids or Novice Hunters.

Our main targets are the Mourning Dove but if the weather cooperates we can hold mass quantities of White Wing Dove & then of course the opportunity at some Eurasian Collared Dove & Pigeons as well.

We manage our properties by not over hunting our fields or stock tanks with daily numbers of hunters & letting them have rest days in between hunts as well.

This keeps the integrity of our Dove Numbers to ensure a great opportunity for you to harvest your limit.

With not running too many hunters on one field also helps the safety of our Hunters.

This is about our Birds & our Hunters not the almighty dollar.

PLEASE read EWO Guidelines below before requesting to book!

EWO Guidelines: Safety is something we cannot stress enough when in the Field. Be aware of where your other hunters are. Find your shooting lane & stick with it. We ask that once you are in your area you stay within a reasonable distance of your chosen spot to not intrude on someone else. Take ethical shots on the game. An EWO Staff Member at any point can ask someone to put their gun away & leave the field for any reason that they see fit. •We do not allow any consumption of alcohol while on our hunts. Save it for after the hunt, at dinner, or back at camp. We value all of our hunters health and the safety of everyone involved. We do this in respect of our Landowners, Neighbors, & our other Hunters. Don’t let alcohol ruin your hunt. We strive to provide you with our best services possible & we feel this helps to ensure that. •Rattlesnakes are in the area as well, so always keep an eye out for them. •Last but not least our biggest request is please PICK UP YOUR HULLS.

FAQ’s: We pride ourselves in offering the best Dove Hunts in our power. On our High Volume Field Hunts we do not hunt the Center of our Fields. We hunt the edges only. So if birds make it to the center of the field they can stay in the field & feed to make them want to come back for more. You have an opportunity to harvest birds on the way in & out of the field. Plus the birds that are buzzing the edges of the fields as well. Not only does it let birds hold & be comfortable but it is also a safety precaution for other hunters to not have human interference their shooting lanes. It also helps to not have scattered hulls all throughout the center of the field. Please do not walk to the center of the field to retrieve a sailing bird then keep shooting & going further into the field after more birds. Retrieve your bird, walk back to your spot & continue filling your limit. On a Stock Tank / Brush / Pasture Hunt we take the same approach by hunting the edges of the property. Whether on a Tree Line, Fence Row, or by surrounding a Stock Tank / Pond with a safe number of hunters with plenty of room for their shooting lanes. If you are booking a “Regular Hunt” & not a “Private Party Hunt” you will be hunting with other hunters on a field with more than enough room for you fair share of shooting. Dogs are more than welcome on our “Regular Hunts” as long as they do not hinder our other Hunters. If anyone from our EWO Staff sees that a Dog is causing issues on the hunt you may be asked to put them on a leash & give them the rest of the hunt off. More often than not Dogs not only aid you personally but our other hunters as well in finding their lost birds. Our Staff will be making passes around the Fields with Dogs to help retrieve lost birds if needed. If you are booking a “Private Party / Corporate Hunt” (Minimum of 20 Guns) you will have a Private Location of your own to hunt. The same stipulations apply that we hunt the edge of the field to not disturb birds & ensure the safety of the hunt. Pick your spot & stick with it. If you need to make a move & have room to do so this is fine as long as it doesn’t interfere with your fellow hunters. Always remember to pick up your Trash & Hulls if moving Hunting Locations. Dogs are more than welcome on a “Private Party Hunt”. But if they are bothering other hunters that is between you & your “Party Leader” as this is a “Private Hunt” it will be your responsibility to work out the issues amongst yourselves. Our biggest request on ALL HUNTS is that you PICK UP YOUR HULLS & whatever Trash you might have leftover from the days hunt. There will be Trash Cans Located at the entrance of each field we hunt to put your Spent Shotshells / Hulls in. If you see a Hull left behind from another hunter please do the courteous thing & pick it up. This is Hunter Etiquette & we appreciate it. • What does EWO Provide: The best Dove Hunting Locations we have available to ensure a quality hunt Custom 15 Bird EWO Dove Lanyards Water & Hydration Drinks Trash Cans for Spent Shotshells / Hulls Via Text: Address to the Hunt Location Hunt Arrival Times Estimated Legal Shooting Hours (This is still your responsibility to check the Shooting Hours on your own) • When & How Long do we Hunt? On an AM / Morning Hunt We will start Hunting @ Legal Shooting Light which is One Half Hour before Sunrise. We call the Hunt as a whole @ 10:00AM or you can call your personal hunt at anytime before that if you choose. Most of the time, limits are reached well before 10:00AM On a PM / Afternoon Hunt we generally start Hunting by 4:00PM until Legal Shooting Light which is Sunset. • Do we Hunt Twice a Day? As a rule of thumb “No” we do not Hunt Twice a Day. On the majority of our Hunts our Hunters have the Opportunity to Harvest their 15 Birds on either an AM or PM Hunt. For example it is not EWO fault if you shoot at 100 Dove & do not fill your limit. We offer “Opportunities” not “Limits”. You do have the Choice of Hunting AM or PM. If you are Booking with a Group, the Group Leader is liable for informing EWO if they want an AM or PM Hunt. If we have an AM Hunt that our EWO Staff feels is not up to our Standards we will do our best to put you on a PM Hunt that Afternoon to give you the Opportunity that we feel is needed. This is not a “Guaranteed Bonus Hunt”. It is very rarely that this situation occurs. • What License do I need & What is the Daily Bag Limit? It is the Hunters Responsibility to check the TPWD Website or Texas Outdoor Annual on anything pertaining to State or Federal Regulations including Licensing & Limits. We do have our local State Game Warden visit often to check on the success of our hunts & to make sure all hunters are abiding by TPWD & Federal Rules / Regulations. So make sure you have all your correct licensing & that you are within your Daily Bag & Possession Limits. State / Federal Regulations can be found at: TPWD Website • What do I Bring? -Shotgun (We prefer Over & Under Shotguns for easy Hull Retrieval. Most of the time you only need 2 shells anyways) It is always a good idea to bring a back up shotgun on a high volume shoot like this. Especially when you are away from home. -Plenty of Bullets (We suggest Shot Size #8’s or #9’s) -Spinning Wing Decoys are suggested but not necessary. -Chair or Bucket for a seat -Bug Spray or Thermocells -Cooler with H2O to stay hydrated (It will be HOTT) -If bringing a Retriever be sure to have plenty of water for him/her too. -UTV’s & ATV’s are allowed. If you plan to bring one be sure to Contact EWO Staff when booking or well in advance of hunt to inform them. There will be Guidelines we go by on where UTV/ATV’s can be driven at the Hunt Locations. We have the Anson City View RV Park Available to Park your UTV/ATV Trailer at. The RV Park is a very safe area to leave your equipment at. There will also be a Bird Cleaning area available for anyone Renting a RV/UTV/ATV Parking Spot. • What will the Weather be like? West Texas Weather is unpredictable but in September it is generally HOT & DRY. Many Days the Highs will be in the 90’s if not into Triple Digits on occasion. So be prepared for a little Heat with the show. •
